Megalife - Quick Start Guide

For details click here →

Set up information:

Please note: When setting up a new device, you manually have to set up

  • Enable Location (First Use Only):
Settings > Location > Location Services > Google Location Accuracy > Turn it On.
(allowing permissions to location is not enough)
  • Set up the access point name (APN) for Cellular Israel sim cards
  • Set up Screen lock during call:
    - This is to prevent you from making calls randomly, and the screen will not be pressed while you're on a call.
    - This automatically locks the touch screen when you make a call or receive a call.
    • Settings> Display> Disable touch during call
To unlock the touch during a call: press the green button twice
To relock the touch: double-press the green button again

Other features

Turn Screen On/Off:
End call button.

Sync Google Contacts:
Contacts > Settings > Accounts > Add Account

Download Approved Apps:
Open “Utilities” to access apps filtered for your level.

Verizon issues:
If experiencing reception or texting issue, call the provider to “enable cdma-less provisioning”

Compatibility

DOOV and MEGALIFE B1 phones:

We’ve determined that the DOOV and Megalife B1 has not proven reliable on Verizon in the U.S. Due to inconsistent results, we assume that it is not compatible with ANY U.S. SIM cards, including Verizon.

These phones do work in Israel, and in the EU.

Megalife F1

Like all US kosher phones (or phones not registered with a provider) there may be set up needed to allow compatibility.

  • For Verizon sim cards, the IMEI of the phone needs to be updated to a Verizon compatible IMEI
  • For AT&T sim cards, the phone's IMEI may have to be registered with AT&T by contacting AT&T.

These phones work in Israel, US and in the EU.

Kosher compatibility

SIM slot one on the B1 device has a kosher IMEI. This means that an Israeli kosher SIM will function correctly in that slot.

  • This feature is particularly beneficial for individuals who typically use two phones (one kosher and one non-kosher) as it allows them to consolidate to a single device with two SIM cards
